Charles R. Brettell
Mr. Brettell is the Managing Partner of The Prosody Group and leads the firm’s management consulting practice under Prosody Consulting, LLC. Mr. Brettell’s 20 years of project development, revitalization & resolution experience includes site selection & negotiation, government, debt & equity financing, due diligence, merger integration, human resources and compliance services for projects valued at over $20 billion dollars.
Along with Prosody’s project development experience on behalf of clients, Prosody recently divested an equity interest in a multi-state solar development entity, MAP Energy Solutions, for which it provided commercial origination, structuring and management services. Prosody has also utilized its own personnel, experience & capital to invest in & revitalize a registered securities broker-dealer, Brooklight Place Securities, Inc.
Prior to founding The Prosody Group, Mr. Brettell was a founder of Energy Asset Advisors (EAA) & Energy Asset Solutions (EAS) and held executive posts with Tyr Energy and Aquila. As a co-founder and Managing Director of EAA & EAS, Mr. Brettell was involved in the due diligence, financing and development of renewable energy and technology projects, as well as providing a variety of support services including investment banking, commercial origination, establishment of project management functions and decision support / option analysis for a diverse base of clients. As Senior Director with Tyr, Mr. Brettell was responsible for asset acquisition & merger integration, third-party crisis management and advisory services for renewable and conventional power generation facilities & companies, including investment banking & lender clients as well as private equity firms. During his tenure at Aquila, Mr. Brettell’s leadership spanned strategy, competitive intelligence, business development, legal, regulatory and human resources for multiple wholly-owned subsidiaries
Mr. Brettell has also worked as an attorney in private practice handling business & litigation matters and holds multiple securities licenses.
Mr. Brettell earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Maryland, a joint Juris Doctor & Master of Business Administration (Finance) degree from the University of Kansas, and a Master of Laws (Tax) degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

Joseph J. Brettell
Joe Brettell joins Prosody with more than 15 years of experience in utilizing traditional and innovative public affairs and media relations skills to help Fortune 500 companies, political campaigns and prominent interest groups execute their strategic goals.
Previously, Mr. Brettell was head of external relations for Apache Corporation, a Fortune 500 oil and gas company, serving as primary day-to-day spokesman and helping shape public and media perception of the company and their efforts around a major new oil & gas play.
Previous to Apache, Mr. Brettell led the Houston energy practice for FleishmanHillard, providing strategic counsel and crisis communications support to a roster of clients across the oil and gas production stream, along with utilities and alternative energy. Mr. Brettell also assisted clients in technology, professional services, automotive and entertainment industries.
Mr. Brettell also served as Communications Director for multiple Members of Congress, helping craft the Republican response to the 2008 financial crisis and Farm Bill.
Frequently quoted in publications across the country, Mr. Brettell is currently a contributor for NBC News Digital and has also been a political columnist for ABC News, in addition to providing commentary on energy and political matters to national media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Reuters and GQ.
A California native and long-suffering Padres fan, Mr. Brettell currently lives in Houston with his wife and their four amazing children, where he serves on the board of the Houston Arts Alliance.

Tyler Brown
Tyler Brown serves as Partner, Asset Development at Prosody. Drawing from over a decade of political experience at the highest level, Tyler helps clients develop and execute strategies to attack complex business challenges.

Tyler served in multiple senior roles at the Republican National Committee over consecutive presidential cycles. With his leadership, the Committee built its digital infrastructure from a six-person staff to one of the largest and most effective digital, data, and technology operations in Republican politics. During his tenure, the RNC broke new ground in online voter registration and turnout, experienced record-breaking fundraising success and achieved historic electoral victories at the federal, state and local level.
Over the course of his career, Tyler has successfully guided campaigns, organizations, companies, and educational institutions to reimagine their capabilities in the digital age. He has trained budding young political strategists, both in the U.S. and internationally, and is a frequent speaker on bridging the gap between online and real-world strategies. With data-driven solutions, he has helped clients maximize existing resources and develop communications assets that help tangibly impact their bottom lines.
A graduate of the University of Virginia, Tyler resides in Alexandria with his wife, Jacquie, and their three children.
